Lori Litchman
Lori Litchman is an outdoor writer who writes about nature in and around Philadelphia. She’s a lifelong Pennsylvanian, growing up in the Poconos before settling in Philadelphia. Right out of college, Lori worked in television news and then as a newspaper reporter covering Pennsylvania’s state appellate courts. She was a reporter for The Legal Intelligencer and Pennsylvania Law Weekly where she won 1st place in a statewide journalism competition for her coverage of Megan’s Law.
She holds an MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goucher College. Her publishing credits also include the 2009 publication of her MFA craft paper, The Metamorphosis of the Nature Writer: The Movement of American Nature Writing from Pastoral to Environmental, in the Writer’s Chronicle, where she wrote about the idea that nature writing has inevitably morphed into environmental writing due to human impact on the natural world.
She’s published one other book, A Philadelphia Story: Founders and Famous Families from the City of Brotherly Love. When Lori isn’t writing or hiking, she’s usually gardening.
